Send a group SMS message to contacts in your Google Sheets spreadsheet

Want to send an SMS to a recipient group that is in your Google Sheets spreadsheet? Every time you add an SMS text to a new row in your Google Sheets spreadsheet and specify a target group, Make (formerly Integromat) will automatically search your spreadsheet for all group members’ phone numbers and send them the SMS message. The template uses this example spreadsheet.

Make (formerly Integromat) can automatically send a group SMS message to contacts in your Google Sheets spreadsheet. Just add an SMS text to a new row in your spreadsheet and specify a target group, and Make (formerly Integromat) will search the spreadsheet for all group members’ phone numbers and send them the message.

Step by step instructions:

1. Set up a Google Sheet with the following columns:

‘Contact Name’

‘Contact Phone Number’

‘Target Group’

1. Create your target groups in the ‘Target Group’ column.
2. Connect your Google account and select your spreadsheet in the next step.
3. Select the ‘New row’ trigger.
4. Add a ‘Find rows’ action.
5. Select the ‘Target Group’ and ‘Phone Number’ columns.
6. Add a ‘Send SMS’ action.
7. Enter the phone numbers of your group members in the ‘Phone Number’ field.
8. Enter the message you want to send in the ‘Message’ field.

Example of use case:

You could use this template to send out reminders to a group of people. For example, you could add a new row to your Google Sheet with the following information:

‘Contact Name’: John

‘Contact Phone Number’: +1 2345 6789

‘Target Group’: Group 1

The message you enter in the ‘Message’ field will be sent to John’s phone number.
